Volume (Max for Live)

You might be seriously wondering why you would need a Max for Live volume knob. 

The reason for making this was because Utility's gain knob has smoothing and is scaled exponentially: so you don't get exactly what you put into the automation lane.

Unlike Ableton's Utility, this volume knob is scaled linearly between -inf dB and 0 dB, and acts sample accurately to automation. This makes it "what you see is what you get". Useful for any and every volume automation, and accepts modulation from other M4L devices as well. 

If you happen to do sidechaining / volume ducking with automation, and aim to mold the ducking shape based on the drums' waveforms, I heavily recommend using this instead of Utility.

The two oscilloscope pictures are of the same automation done with Utility (green) and my Volume (red).

Notice how with fast enough automation, Utility's gain stops moving altogether because of the smoothing, whereas Volume follows the automation to perfection.

An additional Gain knob (that can also be automated sample accurately) with a range of -24db to +24db is included for good measure.
